Most would agree that Ron is generally a little too jealous of Harry for those things that Harry has--money, fame, natural aptitude--and tends to ignore the side effects or causes of those very same things--dead parents/no family, being number one on Voldemort's hit list, little to no privacy, and being constantly either deified or vilified by the wizarding world.  It's pretty obvious that Ron would not be as happy as he thinks he would be were he really in Harry's place.

The Challenge:  Ron gets what he wants but has to face the consequences.  Said consequences can be as dire or as humorous as you like.

Perhaps the Weasleys are all killed causing Ron to somehow come into a lot of money and be directly targeted by Voldemort.

Or perhaps something happens to cause Harry and Ron to switch places making Harry the youngest Weasley boy and Ron the last Potter, survivor of the Killing Curse.

Will Ron see the error of his ways and wish everything could be back the way it was?  Will he bollix things up and get himself or others killed?  Will Harry be as much a fair-weather friend to Ron as Ron was to him?

• Ron and Harry may directly swap lives or Ron may simply suffer events that cause his life to parallel Harry's
• If Ron and Harry's lives are swapped, Ron must remember things as they were, but he must be the only one who does.

Aside from those two rules (or guidelines, rather) you're free to write anything.  The story can either be about Ron getting his just desserts or about Ron learning a life-lesson and becoming a better, more mature person.  It's up to you.

I think we need some more Betrayal fics.

Anyway, Harry and someone else close to him (One of the Weasleys, Sirius, Lupin, Tonks, Hermione etc, etc..... you choose, so many choices) share a drink and Harry, not feeling like drinking pretends to drink while the other gets wasted.

After the other person is really out of it they let slip a plan to make his magic unstable similar to what happened to Ariana Dumbledore and then hand him over to Voldemort and watch both of them go boom, from there Harry interrogates them more and finds out almost everyone he considers a good friend in on it along with the Order, minus a few who were then forced to stay silent or those who it was thought would be against it and capable enough to escape and tell him so left in the dark.

From there Harry must go on and fight Voldemort and his so called friends.

(Add in additional betrayals if you really want to be vindictive to the poor boy, like the robbing him and whatnot, but they aren't mandatory.)

Harry finds out about his destiny and the trechery early on. and forms his own allies,He also has a harem. must include Amelia Bones, Narcissa Malfoy. Susan/Amelia incest and Harry/Lily incest a plus

The Order and Dumbledore purposely set him up to control Harry after his fifth year at Hogwarts!

• They want him to rebel
• They want him to 'escape' and go to the Goblins at Grintgotts
• They want him to discover that he owns the Potter manor
• They want him to disappear into that manor
  
• They want Tonks to join him, who seem to be in 'love' with him
• They want that he is studying certain type of magic
• They want that he is doing his certain shopping and buy himself a time turner
• They want him to discover certain (controlled) truths about his friends and the Order
• They want him to feel betrayed
• They want him to be very angry at the Magical World
• And finally they want that he is going to make love withTonks to make a nice, little baby

Dumbledore is in this story the very intelligent manipulator; the Order of Phoenix knows everything what needs to be known and that's a lot. Everyone in the Order is aware of the Prophecy and Tonks knows what she needs to do in order to finish her assignment and save the wizarding world from destruction; she needs to sleep with Harry and get his child.

And when they complete their scheme, they will kill Harry in order to kill Voldemort. Their child will be the answer to avoid that the Magical World will survive ...

Harry goes to Gringotts between his fifth and sixth year Hogwarts and he discovers some interesting facts about his family.

• He is related to Sirius by Dorea and Charles Potter, his grandparents
• His mother, Lili Potter, is related to Hyacinth Langley and Michal Evans

Until now nothing strange, except that Hyacinth Langley was magical; his green eyes are from her! And that is not all, the Langleyfamily is related to the Queen!

When he finally leaves Gringotts, everything is changed. The Ministry is alerted, as is Dumbledore with his Order of Phoenix, as well the British Royal House and the Muggle Military and not to forget, what is Sirius going to do now that his closest relative is on the loose?

Who is going to get Harry?

What is irritation? "The psychological state of being irritated or annoyed"

Harry is forced to stay at the Dursley's during his summer after his sixth year. He is being picked up by the Order of Phoenix at the first of September and dumbed in the Hogwarts Express. He finds himself a compartment and shortly Ron and Hermione burst in the compartment.

"Harry, how are you? How do you feel? Do you still suffer from the death of Sirius? How do you cope with his everything? What did you do? Were they Dursley's alright? Did they treat you alright? Did you do your homework? Harry, you must talk about your suffering! I'm here to listen to you. Harry, talk!"

Hermione took a deep breath to continue ...

Things happened indeed during his summer vacation and Harry really did not want to share those with the irritating couple. They will find out automatically in time ...

Sometimes after OotP was released, Mark Evans was thought to be a cousin of Harry because he shares the same last name as Harry's mother, Lily. Sometimes later JKR rebuted the argument and came up with a sincere aplogy of the screw up of his last name. The argument itself still have the merit though, So...

THE CHALLENGE: Write a Harry Potter fanfiction contains some interactions between Harry Potter and Mark Evans. Mark doesn't have to be Harry's cousin. The interaction must be somewhat important to the story.

NOTE: Mark Evans is the boy who got beaten up by Dudley in OotP. I think he was 10 back in OotP... He's a neigbhour of Harry actually...

There's a magical world.  And it's kept hidden from the view of "normal" people.  Those who use magic can do all sorts of amazing things.  And, at the age of 11, Harry Potter became part of that world.  He began to learn how to use magic.  He learned that, because of something he doesn't remember, he's practically the center of the magical universe.

Sounds incredible, right?

What if it was?

What if Harry woke up one morning to find himself in a mental institution called St. Brutus', where the doctors and nurses kept trying to convince him that he'd been living in a fantasy world since he had a psychotic break at the age of 11.  His doctor is a kind old man with a long white beard.  And the hospital is filled with people he "knows": Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, Luna, McGonagall, Snape. . . Either as fellow patients or part of the staff.  There's even an intimidatingly frightening man who has been horribly scarred by fire and too many skin-graft operations, leaving him with too-pale skin, no hair and slits for nostrils.

But Harry knows the hospital and the people in it aren't real, right?  It's just Voldemort attempting to confuse and frighten his enemy, right?  Right?

The Challenge:

• Something happens to Harry in the wizarding world that causes him to wake up the next day in the hospital world.
• Harry's subsequent days are spent in either world.
• The other people in both worlds keep trying to convince Harry that their world is the real one.
• There can be any number of familiar characters in the hospital world, either as fellow patients, staff or family of patients.
• The ending of the story is up to you, it may end with Harry "cured" in either world or the ending may be left ambiguous.

Bonus points for:

1. Having others try to convince Harry to affect the other world.  Example: having Harry's doctor tell him to snap his wand as it is a symbol of his illness.  Or having one of his friends in the wizarding world suggest that he attempt to perform magic in the hospital to prove to himself that magic is real.
2. Luna is normal in the normal world.  Sure, you can write her as the same old Luna if you want to, but isn't that just a little too easy?
3. Having the hospital world counterparts of wizarding world characters have different personalities (different from their wizarding world personalities, that is), but such that their wizarding world personalities could be extrapolated from them.  Example: have Hermione be ignorant yet constantly second guessing doctors orders.  Or, perhaps Ron is a patient that is incredibly wealthy but has snapped under pressure and thinks he's not.
4. Explaining any major wizarding world event in terms of the hospital world.  Example: discovering that Cedric Diggory was a short-term room mate of Harry's and has since completed his stay and been discharged.  Or, perhaps Harry was doing better shortly before his 14th birthday and looked to be making some real progress when one of the patients had a bad day, went a bit wild and Harry claimed for months afterward that the man had turned into a wolf right in front of him, causing Harry to have to be sedated.

Come on, you know you want to give this one a shot.

Revenge on the magical or muggle world ingeneral or specific authority figures or buildings! Anything goes.

This would take place at the start of the fifth year, when Harry gets attacked by the Dementors.

He used the patronus to push the dementors back. What if he was too late?

The idea here is that Harry suffers something of a panic attack as the dementors approach. The dementor initiates the kiss, pulls part of Harry's soul out, and then Harry casts the Patronus. At that point the dementor slams its jaws shut and pulls back. Without letting go of the part of Harry's soul it has and the dementor is destroyed.

We have a destroyed dementor, and half of Harry's soul, maybe more, maybe less.

Rules:

1. Harry does not become a dementor.
2. Losing half a soul will not make him super-powered.
3. Losing half a soul is significant. Harry's personality will change. Drastically.
4. The half soul is not lost, it is merely misplaced, it's roaming free and making trouble ... and Harry can connect with his half soul ... he can send it anywhere he wants to observes what it sees ... and nobody can sense the soul
5. Except Voldemort!

The tarantula hawk is a species of spider wasp, which hunts tarantulas and other snakes as food for their larvae.

Up to one to 25 mm long with a blue-black body and bright green-colored wings, tarantula hawks can be among the smallest of wasps. A bright green coloring on their wings is also known as aposematic coloring and warns potential predators that they are dangerous. Their long legs (compaired with their bodies) end with hooked claws for grappling with their victims. What has the tarantula hawk to do with this challenge?

Well .................... like this:

1. Harry steals the Animagus revealing potion from his favorite Transfiguration Professor. Nobody knows and he plans to share the potion with Ron and Hermione
2. Ron and Ginny are not happy with Harry and he feels himself very lonely the last days at Hogwarts. They did not like that they almost lost their lives during the battle at the Ministry. Hermione wants to stay neutral and stays in the Hospital wing most of the remaining time to recover from her wounds
3. Harry leaves Hogwarts together with everyone, but his trip at the Hogwarts Express is very lonely. Harry feels that his friends betrayed him and is very angry ... especially at Dumbledore and the Order of Phoenix
4. At the start of his summer vacation at the Dursley's, he buys the best Animagus books he can buy with the help of Hedwig (Owl order)
   
5. He studies the books intensely and takes the potion ...
6. He turns into a wasp! To be exactly a tarantula hawk

So far so good, but what is so interesting about that wasp?

1. He is small in his animagus form: only 5 mm (half centimeter)
2. He is extremely fast when flying
3. His stinger is extremely painful for any animal, especially humans
4. The wasp can kill or paralyze a human
5. Poor, poor Dursley's ...

What happens next is up to you.
